Albania Sector: Private Single House (individual use) · 2023
Nestled in southern Tirana’s green topography, the RJ Villa explores the boundary between topography and architectural form. A dual-volume composition reinterprets domestic access, mediating the tension between private refuge and contextual exposure. Clad in stone textures that merge into the earth, the exterior acts as a raw, grounding envelope, allowing the interior to exist as an emancipated space of flexibility, materiality, and contemporary life.
Finalist / Nominated for the SHARE Architecture Awards 2025 at the Zumtobel Light Forum in Dornbirn, Austria. The work has received critical acclaim and extensive coverage in prominent architectural media and monographs, recognized for bridging conceptual rigor with vernacular landscape integration.
Currently under construction in Borsh, southern Albania, this hotel shapes a new presence along the Ionian coast. Guided by light, air, and terrain, the architecture embraces a contextual modernism through raw textured concrete, native stone, and expansive open volumes. The project translates vision into physical reality, orchestrating a sensory spatial experience meticulously crafted around sea breezes, tectonic shadow, and endless coastal horizons.
Located near the Great Park in Tirana, the Embassy of Peace is conceived as a sculptural "House of Peace." Navigating steep terrain, its pure white volume is articulated with dynamic red clefts, symbolizing the purity and fragility of peace under shifting natural light. The headquarters integrates a panoramic roof terrace, advanced sustainable technologies, and an underground 300-seat auditorium illuminated by zenithal daylight, creating an open institutional sanctuary for dialogue.
Nominated for the prestigious European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award (EUmies Awards 2024). The Embassy of Peace has received wide critical acclaim. It has been extensively featured in leading national and international architectural publications, recognized as an outstanding institutional benchmark and cultural landmark in Albania.
